HB 1063 Gubernatorial Transition (2026 Session)
Gubernatorial Transition: Requires Governor to designate transition liaison within EOG within specified timeframe; provides duties of transition liaison; requires head of each state agency to designate agency transition liaison within specified timeframe; provides duties of agency transition liaisons; requires DMS & each state agency to provide certain temporary office facilities to certain persons during transition period; requires DMS, upon request, to provide Governor-elect & his or her staff with information technology & related services for such transition period; requires Governor-elect to designate in writing staff to be provided with such services; requires specified persons to sign certain memorandum of understanding; requires each state agency, upon request, to provide Governor-elect & his or her staff with access to agency leadership personnel during transition period; authorizes state agencies to assign limited personnel to assist Governor-elect & his or her staff; requires that Governor-elect & his or her staff be granted access to all state agency records upon request; requires that Governor-elect & persons designated by Governor-elect be granted access to confidential & exempt records under certain conditions; provides criminal penalties. Effective Date: upon becoming a law
